FFA Season Two!

Post by Trickspeed on 4th April 2012, 00:59

Copied from FS forum:
FFA SEASON 2 IS HERE

http://ffa2.freeforums.org/

With only the 7s final to go, I am opening up FFA sign ups early.

Season 2 of FFA will be entirely focused on a different forum, for the ease of access to management. The new forum means that logs of games can be displayed publicly, and that everything is in a convenient place to see it all. It also means that moderation can be done by the tournament organizers on the forum as opposed to season 1.

Sign ups will be open until Sunday 15th April. You must create an account on the website, sign up in the relevant area, and wait for approval.

All the relevant information is on the forums.

Thank you and good luck!

So guys, I will handle the signups. All you need to know is we are undecided on entering 11's again, and that we will be entering a Lions team and a Cubs team. The Cubs team will have some lions players in (please do not get angry if you are in Cubs, it does not mean you are not good enough for lions, although Lions will be a stronger team. It is simply to give you a greater chance of playing and to help teach the Cubs.

Seeing the recent activity I think it would be better not to enter in 11s. On top of that, I'm not that sure that we can get 2 teams all the time. It is worth a shot, but I dont think it'll work Sad

I'm game. But with a busy schedule possible coming up. I will need definitive match times, preferable weekends, to make it possible to come. I know you won't cater to me specifically. I'm just letting you know what I am most likely to make. 7s is dope and I'll play where you need me.

11s, I say enter. You can have up to 30 players so I'd combine cubs and Lions for that. Maybe 15 active from one and 15 active from the other. Depending on numbers of players. The numbers are obviously not ideal and we may be cutting close for 7s, but even if we have 12 both that is more than enough for 11s.

The only reason I vote for signing up for 11s is first and foremost, FFA is the only time we've ever done 11s. I think I've participated in 3 11s games outside of FFA. Whether we finish bottom of our group or not. I think its valuable experience for our players, and if we wish to improve and attract players I think having an active 11s playing squad will help.

Bpzeke, that is the reason we should NOT enter. We can never play 11s. If we would have enough now 2 times a week i would say yes, but we dont. I used to play 11s allmost EVERY DAY. I will not play with cubs, cause they just lack the experience and stats to play 11s. I would rather loan myself to another pmc...

I think we could enter Lions and Cubs for 7-a-side, and Lions for 11s. For 11s, I'd merge Cubs and Lions. To hell with 'lower levels don't stand a chance.' It's about fun Smile. And remember that competition matches always attract more players online than regular day-to-day FS-ing.

I don't necessarily see a negative to doing 11. Though if that is how you feel, then we have enough for 11s we should be doing them. Friendlies or otherwise. Especially since between Lions and Cubs we are starting to have enough people on for it.

I still believe we should do 11s FFA, but we need to play 11s a few times a week. Even if we have to loan some cubs, a good chunk are in d2 anyways now.

tl;dr: Need to do 11s, we have enough. If you don't want us doing FFA 11s, fine. But we still need to start doing 11s.
